Janine Sebastian, FaBLOOMosity’s owner, is running a few minutes late, so Danielle, one of the floral designers, is in charge of the shop. She makes her way around, setting up for the day, making calls and answering messages. The space is simple at first glance – an open concept showroom with high ceilings and an island near the back where the women do most of their floral arrangements.
Everything is black, even the ceiling. The office is a complete contrast in white and cream. After letting the eyes wander around the space, all of the meticulous details burst out in pops of green, gold and copper. Henri, the elephant-shaped hedge, is perched near the wall of windows staring out into the street and inviting passers-by inside. A cluster of chandeliers, each with its own design and personality, glows above the center of the showroom like a radiant constellation over the bronze print of “FABLOOMOSITY” etched across the black marbled tile.
