Samantha Lin’s original passion was arranging artificial flowers. “I came from Taiwan in 1992. At that time I was a stay-at-home mom, so my sister and I started to create our own paper flower crafts. We started to do craft shows and weddings.” That encouraged Samantha to try her hand at real flowers, which then led to her buying Flowers In The Park in 2006. She hasn’t looked back since. “I’ve always loved creating," she says. "It was a big stretch to move to fresh flowers, but now I really enjoy it.”
“There is a quite a big difference between artificial and real flowers. Artificial is more flexible because it has a wire so you won’t break them. You can do whatever shape you want,” she says. “The fresh flowers have their own personality. It took me a while to adjust, but because of my background doing artificial flowers, there is a lot that people think they can’t do with fresh flowers that I can make happen.”
