Borne from their passion for quality craftsmanship, John and Diane Atkinson opened Atkinson’s in 1985 to bring Vancouver all the stunning brands they had fallen in love with during their travels across the globe. The couple’s success is driven by a desire for sharing beauty, finding the unique and presenting the exceptional – passions they have passed on to their children. Their eldest son J.J. joined the family business in the late 1990s. “I brought my parents kicking and screaming into the online world to catch up with everyone. It was handwritten invoices before I started,” laughs J.J., whose speciality is helping customers find the perfect crystal and silverware.
Daughter Becky coordinates the bridal registry, while second son Danny explores his love for fine food though the latest contemporary dinnerware trends.
