Life is just better with yoga. That’s what Roxanne Astles, owner of Believe Yoga in Pitt Meadows, believes and wants the students coming to her studio to experience. Some students come to Believe Yoga to complement their other physical activities, others come to recover from injuries, but many come seeking a balance between their mind, body and spirit, Roxanne explains.
Roxanne worked at the local hospital before opening her studio in Pitt Meadows. Launching her business was a “complete leap of faith” — she left a steady job and trusted that she could help bring the same peace of mind she found in yoga to others. “I wanted to be helping people, being proactive instead of treating them at the hospital after they got sick,” Roxanne explains. In running her studio, she sees her customers becoming more balanced and developing an inner calmness. “Even when they’re not practising yoga in the studio, the students take it with them, they carry it inside,” she says.
