Dr. Renu Sood’s passion for animal care and well-being dates back to her childhood days growing up on a farm surrounded by animals and pets. Dr. Renu’s love for animals led her to focus her studies and career in the field for many years in India before moving to Vancouver, where she studied animal welfare and behaviour at a master’s level. In 2012, she became a duly qualified veterinarian registered pursuant to the Veterinarians Act by the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia.
After 18 years working as a veterinarian, in 2013 Dr. Renu was presented with the opportunity to take ownership of Apollo Animal Hospital from her previous boss. “For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to run my own clinic,” says Dr. Renu, who demonstrates her unrivalled commitment to her four-legged patients by living on site at the clinic.
“We aim to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and to teach families about their pets along the way,” says Dr. Renu. “We evaluate the overall health of each and every pet that we see, rather than solely focusing on the one issue or problem that the pet owner came to us about, in order to ensure we are providing the best possible care.”
