Jeweller, certified gemologist, Vedic healing gemstone specialist and the creative spirit behind Kobe PearlsInternational, Tu Hoang hails from a family of jewellers in Vietnam.
In 1979, Tu came to Vancouver as a refugee sponsored by the LOFT Church, and he was soon given the opportunity to continue his family’s legacy in Canada. “One member of the church needed help at his jewellery store, so I started working there and began to learn more about jewellery design and took a gemologist course,” says Tu. “In 1987, I opened up my own business.”

“We do our very best to offer our customers whatever they like, and so far, they are quite happy. Sometimes we have three generations of customers,” says Tu. “I keep a low profile, so new customers find out about us through word of mouth.”
