From her second floor 1889 heritage studio in Gastown, Vancouver's second oldest brick structure, Leah Alexandra handmade jewellery designs are just as versatile and classic as architecture's most timeless material.
A self-taught designer, Leah was blessed with the creative gene and started crafting jewellery from a young age: "that is, if you count making friendship bracelets as a kid," she jokes. Following her artistic bent, she pursued her Bachelor of Design at Ryerson University in Toronto, and began to carve out her career path. "I just started making jewellery and purchasing gemstones, first with the intention to make it for myself, and later for friends and family," she admits.
Leah moved to Vancouver in 2004 and interned with a local goldsmith, while making jewellery out of her humble studio apartment. Her fresh designs soon garnered attention and she launched her namesake studio in 2014.
