I stop here ocasionaly when I take my bike following the hydro-line bicycle path. Every time I do stop here, I don't regret it at all!! The food is great, the servers are very patient and the atmosphere has a very compfortable local feel. I suggest ordering the McWindmill when you go there.
July 7th/2011 around 7am, I wanted the cook to make me something French Canadian. Was at Goodlife Fitness 4:30am early for cardio and weights. I asked the waitress to have the cook put a order of Poutine with extra cheese on a big plate, then side order of grilled ham around the cheesey pile, last 2 large eggs scrambled in 3% milk. No toast or potatoes I told her and L-milk plus Diet Pepsi. Told this will cost more, No problem I told her. Here comes food: Oval plate with pile of fries and shreaded chedder lots all over the hotfries with at least 2 scoops of gravy YUUMY. 4 1/2 slices of thick ham and my fluffy eggs at the side of the pile. OH my god this is big..and at the end so was my bill..$17.52(hst inc.).
I know this place years ago when Burlington Post Manager took me here for breakfeast(3x). I feel like it's 1970 cosy restaurant. June 13/2011 here for eggs+sausage+toast(no potatoes) & juice/milk too. No were in Milton/Georgetown you can sit down and feel like MOM'S making you breakfeast before you go to school. FOOD: Eggs perfect over easy the yolk runs(Yes)-Troys(Milton) over cooked the eggs till the yolk was hard and rubbery. Sausages was perfect and moist I love it...I going to bring my freind from Burlington Post here my treat and will post a review on what we had...Bye Meaowwww...
This is the restaurant your Dad went to. This little shop looks like it came out of the Great Gatsby. It's surrounded by car repair garages and a gas station on a sheepish street. It's easy to miss and can be confused for yet another car repair shop if you're not careful. However, inside was the best service I've ever had in a Burlington restaurant. It was like going home. Food: I would have easily paid the full price of breakfast for just the homefries. They were soft; they were crunchy; they were flavourful! Best of all, it was authentic hash browns made on a griddle with love. Atmosphere and Service: When my friend and I first arrived, we were stopped by a man who had just finished his breakfast. His reply to my question was that he'd been eating there every Saturday for at least 5 years. When we were seated by a drafty door, a lady who was on her way out suggested to us that we should take her vacant booth. The service from the waitstaff was excellent, but the community made this breakfast an experience that I won't soon forget. I have some reservations about writing this review. On one hand, it would be great for business if everyone in town knew about this place. On the other, the restaurant would lose its charm for being the quaint little community restaurant that the locals appreciate so much.
A HIDDEN GEM Windmill is a small restaurant(about 40 seats) off the beaten path but the local residents have found it for breakfast which is cheap and good. French toast with Western sandwich(including coffee) is about $2-3 cheaper than anywhere else in town on a weekend and quality is good. Service is efficient and coffee keeps coming Restaurant is very clean however can get get somewhat noisey once if gets full.
HAnds down the best homemade soup in Burlington, Wed, is chickin soup day don't miss out.
Really good breakfast place. I loved that one of the servers came to all the tables periodically with a coffee pot and an open litre of cream -- WOW - that's impressive service. I also loved the homefries -- REAL BOILED THEN SAUTEED CRUNCHY POTATOES which is getting harder and harder to find. When you asked for ham or peameal well done the meat came with lots of dark brown crunchy deliciousness on it. All of the servers were friendly and eager to please. We came to Burlington for the day and picked this restaurant for breakfast based on the stellar Restaurantica reviews given to it -- thank you so much for that!!!
They use real turkey which makes for a great sandwich.
excellent food and service!!! highly recommend this place.
The food is excellent and the atmosphere very comfortable. The chef is funny and makes the dining experience at the Windmill very enjoyable and entertaining! Quick service, great food, excellent prices!
Absolutely amazing!!! The chef even put a ketchup smiley face on my burger! He is so nice!!! Makes me smile with his Greek charm!!!
The perfect place to go for lunch if you want good food and you are in a hurry.
I would suggest this restuarant to anyone looking for quailty food at a fair price
Absolutly the most cleanly, comfortable place i've been to in awhile along with the greatest prices I've expeirienced in Burlington! Overall a great experience, and definitly i would say a diamond in the rough.
The service was amazing because it's more intimate then your average restaurant you get served right away. The menue was extremely easy to read and the atmosphere is extremly welcoming.
