Poorly service with take out l! I ordered 3 breakfast specials and got no utensils,no napkins,no jam/Butter! Walked in with waitresses standing around talking instead of pleasing customers! Cost enough for having to eat dry bread and eat with fingers! Deserve a restaurant credit
This is your quaint family style restaurant where it seems everyone knows your name type atmosphere. Go there if you want casual, homey, and simple. Nothing fancy. Great for a place where you want a meal you can rely. Just don't expect it to be the best food ever so I'm not sure where the other people who had commneted dined to say that that place is the best they;ve ever had.
We went for breakfast and yes, It was very speedy to receive the food. I think that's because my bacon was DEEP FRIED. Grossest things ever. Who does that?? The waitress saw us walk in, looked us, kept talking to someone else, we assumed we seat ourselves, so we did. She continued talking and after about 4 minutes after we sat, she came over and asked us for our order. I had to ask for menu's. Would NEVER return.
Went for late dinner. BEST Tilapia I've ever had - flaky, grilled not breaded, lightly seasoned, melt in your mouth (+ flavoured rice and home made carrots). Home made soup, delicious. coffee all for 11.95! Husband's salad was crisp & crunchy. Service was extremely friendly...chef came out and visited all tables. Atmosphere is: old but very clean, homey truck-stop. by the way: wouldn't take my mom to a truckstop for a special meal.
took my Mother for breakfast, had bacon and eggs...it was aweful, seemed like it had been cooked 2 days in advance, eggs were rubbery and slimey and the bacon was disgusting, needless to say the "dining room" was more disgusting then the food.......YUCK:(
Great food! the cooks do a great job! its always so busy and i can see why people keep coming back. They should bring back the Indian items, they were really good.

went there with the family for breakfast..ordered the standard special..eggs were cold..scrambled eggs not cooked properly..bacon tasted like it had been reheated all week long and had a very rude server,,im assuming she was the bosses daughter so maybe thats why she thought she could afford to be distant and cold...dirty carpets..dirty tables and to top it off we overheard the owner in the kitchen laughing at our expense when we complained about the food! UNBELIEVABLE!
The girl that served us was quite rude. She must have been having a bad day. I guess I would feel the same way if I had to work there. Won't be going back -- ever!
I am told this was once the grand spot for breakfast. Maybe at one point. You are all at long tables joined together, like 12 or 14 people. So you will sit with strangers unless you have a huge group. The place is showing its age. The food was ok. If I lived next door, maybe we would go back. Living by the university,
I doubt we will. Glad we went as trying all the spots in town is the mission. So average food, average to maybe less than average in the price (a good thing), way below average
on the decore and seating side, and overall a place that needs a make over badly. Including the parking lot with its craters.
But if you have a huge group, they have tables that handle it
so that is a plus.
I wished I had read the reviews on this one earlier. 3 of us that had the soup all got sick. Cooincidence, maybe. Wait staff very nice, but clean.... don't think so. Given the amount of choices in Guelph, I would take a pass here I think.
Went for Father's Day breakfast - place was absolutely packed but the waitresses were flying around and we got the fastest breakfast ever. Good, fast, friendly service. Breakfast was good - nothing special, bacon and eggs, toast and fries. French toast was fine, a little soggy. Atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from the name and the exterior - this is not fine dining.
