Pub Food done well

there is nothing fantastic or mind blowing about the Oarsman, but that being said it is good food for a good price. There fish n chips are good but not great (see Rose & Crown) . But if you have a group outing they have a great selection of "apps" to keep everyone happy. Their wings are really good, and should be taste tested for sure

CONSISTENT

I've never had a bad meal here... actually very surprised to read anything negative about some of the best pub grub in town! Fish and chips, Pies, sandwiches etc. are wonderfull choices!

They should know how to cook fish and chips at a pub. Good service but the food was a disappointment.

My mom and I went to the Oarsman the last time we were in Kingston (Brockville dwellers) and we had a delicious lunch, as ALWAYS!! We've eaten here several times, and NEVER have has a problem. The service is very timely and quick, and the servers are pleasant (even though, almost always very busy... look around, you aren't their only table!) Our steaks were done to perfection, and their caesar salad is also very tasty. We at far too much, but couldn't stop. The wings were very nicely done. The atmosphere in the Oarsman is unmatched. It's so wonderful and inviting... from the dark woodwork, to the English phone booth, to the wonderful draught taps that stand as artwork adorning the bar. You would do well to eat here! It's a great value for a wonderful experience!

We have been to the Oarsman so many times I can't recall them all. We usually have the same things, and the food is very very good. With the exception of about a 1 month span a year or so ago when the food was poor, it has ALWAYS been good. Great atmosphere, great pub food.
