Lovely atmosphere, decent food, good service

I love the general atmosphere of this place which is charming and delightful. Its in a beautiful heritage house that transports you back to another time. The service is quite good too. They offer a wide ranging menu. I haven't had the pizza the guy makes there in years but it was probably my favourite thing.

Great meal in a relaxing atmosphere

We sat down to a succulent prime rib special on a Sunday night. Each of us ordered different levels of doneness and yet they all came out perfect at the same time! We enjoyed a quiet atmosphere that allowed nice conversation and a very relaxing evening. We only had one member of our party to order an appetizer since we had been told that portion sizes were very generous. We weren't disappointed, the plates were so big and large portions of potatoes, fresh, in season veggies and a thick slab of beef made our mouths water in anticipation! Overall we were so pleased...and stuffed. I think we were ready to roll out the door when our server brought us Lemon cake that was 6 inches high! Of course, even though we were stuffed we ate every bite of the cake because it was too good to leave behind. Janet, our server was kind enough to package up the rolls that we hadn't eaten and sent them home for the kids!

Over the past 35 years I have been making frequent visits to The Royal Coachman in Napanee, Ontario. The friendly staff make it the best possible experience from start to finish.... At times I haven't even made a reservation, I have just showed up & hoped they could squeeze us in....They always did with in minutes of us arriving. The food quality is second to none. Imagine the most peaceful place on earth with all your favourite foods in one place.... The decor is so beautiful & you feel like you just came home....They treat you like family. & always remember your name.... Randy the Owner/Chef even remembers your allergies to certain foods....That is one great asset of a fantastic Chef.... I have had each meal at one time or another while dining there.....I can assure you that each meal is a delectable as the last.... The brunch buffets are amazing as well.....I love the prime rib buffets so much too.... I can't imagine spending my hard earned money in a better place..... When I visit the Royal Coachman I feel like I visited heaven on earth... Thank You So Much!!!!!!

Excellent Restaurant

I am original from Toronto and had an excellent experience with this restaurant more than 16 years ago and I still return here for the excellent service and food quality. The atmosphere is very comforting and attractive decor. I have had my parents large anniversary party of over 30 people here, with our own waitress in a private room. Food was hot, and excellent, waitress catered to our every need. I also have had a small wedding reception here with excellent food and service. I have celebrated anniversaries, valentines day and birthdays as well as special event dinners at this restaurant and the staff make everything possible and the food is exceptional. I have also had breakfast buffet at this restaurant and have taken my mother on mothers day. I would and have referred many people to this restaurant.

The Royal Coachman is a quaint little restaurant tucked away on Highway 2, just on the outskirts of Napanee. The menu contains a number of classic dishes, but seems fairly outdated and a little boring at first glance. That said, the dishes themselves are top-notch, cooked perfectly and with ample portion sizes. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall this restaurant is a nice little surprise!
