If there’s one thing that Robert Aldsworth and daughter Kathy have learned over their years of running a photographic store, it’s the importance of being ahead of the game. Time and time again, they have picked up on the next big thing in photography before it explodes and offered relevant services at their Oshawa store before the public even knew they needed them. “We were the first locally to do colour processing and we made a digital lab in 2001 before most people had digital cameras,” says Kathy.
It all started in 1957 when Robert pounded the pavement going from door to door offering his services as a baby photographer to new parents. Soon afterwards, he bought a local studio that had links with the local photographic world going back to 1898. Robert Aldsworth Photo World was born.
