Chloe is the luckiest pug in Oshawa. She gets to sample all of the pampering at Touch of a Paw Spa before the other dogs do because the owner of the facility is her ‘mo,’ owner Donna Benson. “Chloe has had the works,” says Donna. “I’ve coloured her tail pink with chalk dye and given her a vegan tattoo. She’s used the Jacuzzi for relaxation and had a session of aromatherapy. She loves it.”
If Chloe approves of a service and Donna thinks it has legs, it will go on the menu. The spa services are the treat side of Donna’s pet grooming salon. If you’re looking for standard grooming for dogs and cats of all sizes, flea baths or nail clipping, Donna is also your lady. “If your pet doesn’t like having its nails clipped, I can do nail grinding instead, which has the same result,” she notes.
Donna extends her grooming services to dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs – if you can’t face the task yourself. There's also a retail strand to the spa where you can pick up a collar, a dressy bow, winter outfit, pet foods, beauty products and many accessories. “People often buy a treat for their dog after its grooming session as a reward,” adds Donna.
