Pesto's

I was actually looking forward to going here. It looked like a decent place and I had heard a few good reviews on it. We went in for breakfast and were seated immediately by the only waitress working there. She left us with menus and returned in a decent time to take our order. We had to wait longer than comfortable to receive our order and the scrambled eggs were good. Unfortunately the bacon was Mummified (it looked like it had been cooked hours previous), the potatoes were still hard and starchy on the inside, the sausage was.. I'm not sure what it was, but my wife took one bite and I feared she was going to be ill, and the pancakes, they were the only pancakes I ever sent back uneaten. Not untouched. I was worried that if I sent them back unmarred they would be waiting to surprise some other poor patron hours, or perhaps days later. At the end of it I payed far more than I would have thought appropriate, and left hungry, disappointed and greasy.

Not a better place after a wild and hectic day at work for a wonderful dinner and drinks than @ Pesto's. Consistantly excellent dinner specials, quiet, relaxing atmosphere and great service. Every meal is cooked to order....salads arrive crisp and fresh, main course never disappoints; desserts and coffee, the perfect finale. Never, ever had a poor meal here.

Fast service - Great Food - a real GEM Downtown

A co-worker from Southern Ontario was with me for a day of client calls. We decided to have a quick lunch downtown and we happened on Pesto's. Nice atmosphere, clean and welcoming staff. We were greeted warmly, shown to a roomy booth & presented the special features of the day within moments - the staff was very pleasant & welcoming - Lunch selection was broad and our order came picture perfect within 10 minutes. The Foccacia Club Sandwich came with perfectly done fresh baked foccacia bread & generously filled with smoked turkey, thick crispy bacon, luscious juicy tomatoes and crisp lettuce with a tangy yet sweet house mayo - You must have one next time you go! Really, really!

I eat here on a regular basis and i must say that everything i've tried is good. The bread that comes with the pasta is great, pizza's are good, pasta dishes are good as well ( try the linguine with salmon and shrimp, cheese capeletti) The daily specials are good as well. strawberry salad is tasty.

I have been here many times for a draft beer and a pizza. The service is always very friendly and efficient. You almost don't realize that the staff is watching you and they come readily to ask if everything is OK and to offer more drinks, etc. The pizza was very good, with a full covering of sauce and cheese and lots of quality ingredients. It was a bit dry on the outer edges, however. The pizza was made by a rookie chef under the supervision of an experienced chef and the results were very good.

We were a very large groupe going out for lunch, the food was amazing and we had great service. It is a gorgeous restaurant and everything tasted fresh.

My husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary here but we were somewhat disappointed with the overall experience. A couple of items (i.e. screwdriver, filet mignon, etc.) were not very good and it was too costly when considering the quality. Atmosphere was so-so but could have been made better by simply lighting the candles that were already on the tables and maybe adding a couple of small flower vases.
