Dr. Gary Rosnick started his veterinarian career in the countryside outside of Toronto in 1982. When he moved his practice to the bustling downtown core and took ownership of the Parkdale Animal Hospital in 1985, he traded working with cows and horses for cats and dogs.
The neighbourhood of Parkdale was rough around the edges, but Dr. Rosnick stayed put and almost two decades later, his hospital is a respected institution amongst local pet owners. “Parkdale has cleaned up a lot,” says Dr. Rosnick, “and there are a tremendous number of wonderful people in the neighborhood. I’ve always said that if you took all the different areas of Toronto and put them all together and mixed them up, that’s Parkdale - it’s got a really great broad section of different cultures.”
