I frequently visit Udipi Palace. I went there again today and my experience was sub-standard. After ordering a couple of items for lunch I ordered dessert - Badam Halwa. A halwa is a relatively dense confection. What was offered to me was a thickened liquid that was extremely sweet and barely edible. The manager did not care about my feedback. His attitude and lack of concern has made me realize they do not care about their customer's opinion. Will not visit this restaurant again.

Hi Corina first of all let me apologize for your experience. I agree we should have taken care of this in a different way. I have briefed the concerned staff as well as the Manager. The Manager should have definitely handled this in a better manner. I hope you give us a another chance and when you decide to do so please ask for me my name is Hubert Dmello and I am the owner of Udupi Palace. I would like to make this right. Once again accept my sincere apology and hope to see you soon
I have been there many times with large groups of people and have always loved their vegetarian cusine. It is well presented and very fresh and hot. The ambiance is very grey, but it has an indian impression which is very cultural and ads mood. Will be back for sure.
We did our reservation reading their website and these reveiws, they surely lived up to their vast menu as this was our first time. Clean, great food and the boys very pleasant. The entire group was very happy. The place definately needs a revamp as looks like a big hall, but excellent food and service. Evening well spent.
A great vegetarian restaurant! Totally affordable. Washrooms, not so clean at the time, a small flood. But I would definitely go back!
You really cannot beat the food here. Too bad the place has the feel of a mall food court.
Great food equally great service. me and my family visit this place on Little India every month our children love this joint. We are glad we have a vegetarian restaurant so close to downtown. I have recommended this place to my friends and all have just good things to say. The best vegetarian in town.
No doubt the best Vegetaran place to visit, very clean friendly staff and equally great food. My son loved the Rainbow color full Uthapam. We love this place Will go back
The best, most authentic south indian veg in town. I have loved this place for years. Attentive staff, speedy food service, and super-tasty morsels. Also one of the only places I can bring my toddler these days as there is ample room for him to do his "walking circuit".
Great food , equally great service. will recommend to all
It was an extremely busy evening for the Udupi boys. We were in two minds as we saw the lineup but finally an evening well spent as the service and food was above excellent. The boys took very good care and a pleasant, polite service. The water glasses were never left empty. The new fusion menu is a great add on, the best drink we have ever had in a Indian restaurant the thick and sweet Mango and bana lassi. The place is big and lean. I would definately recommend my friends and look forward for another visit. we were taken care very well a
This is one Indian restaurant on the Gerrard Strip that attracts a higher percent of Indian than western diners. I take that as a good sign. The food has a very fresh, clean taste. I have eaten there about a dozen times, and highly recommend both dosas and the thali if you're new to south Indian cuisine. The thali in particular is very filling and satisfying - a circle of about 10 little bowls of various soups, curries, pickle, yogurt and dessert surrounding a mound of rice and a freshly made chapati for $8.95. The actual dishes have varied from one thali meal to the next, which is nice. Some attempt at ambience with murals of deities and depictions of various Indian art forms, but basically it's in a cavernous, though well-lit below ground-level room with lots of hard surfaces for sound to bounce off. Clean. Have had varying degrees of service from indifferent to pleasant. Have been all but ignored on several occasions when we were females only at the table - service improves if you are, or are with, a man, I'm sorry to say.
Good food, Very Good waiters, Nice altar, Didn't have my reading glasses, Wasn't sure how much i was being charged Forgot the tips as a result. Called again later in the evening. and I was told I could make it up next time. No need to pay now as it was difficult to trace the items. Will go again. If only to pay the waiters. Hope they are still working at this restaurant. Sweet guys.
