Main Street's Hazel & Jools is a go-to for expectant and nursing Vancouver moms, as well as a great resource for everyday clothes, and they have deep local roots.
In the 1980s Vancouverite Susan Heyes was designing sportswear. When her best friend became pregnant and she couldn't find anything stylish to wear, Susan changed the focus of her designs to maternity and lifestyle under the Hazel & Co. label. She went on to open a store under that same name in the '90s when she was expecting her daughter Julia (aka Jools). She launched with a children’s collection and maternity and women’s collections that were all designed and produced in Vancouver. “I didn't want to keep on with all the travelling that the wholesale business required; instead I started focusing on serving the local community with home-grown products.”
Hazel & Co later morphed into Hazel & Jools, and in addition to the other great women’s brands they carry, they still design and produce a lifestyle collection in Vancouver, under the Hazel & Jools label, including their legendary super-soft bamboo leggings and separates.
