Sushi Stars is a real gem here in the city. Good price for AYCE and a menu that can suit anyone... even vegetarians and non fish eaters! The owners are always looking at new and exciting things to add to the menu. The quality of the food is excellent and the fish tastes fresh and well cut. Take out rolls are a generous size and presentation overall is always pretty without being pretentious. The restaurant is classy and a welcome spot for lunch or dinner.

The best AYCE in the region

This is the best sushi I've had in the region. The fish tastes fresh, they are constantly updating the menu and investing in the restaurant. The service has improved since the place first opened, almost to the point where you would like them to stop asking you if "everything is okay?" Try the chicken skewers, button mushrooms, rainbow pizza, and spicy salmon handroll. I go here almost weekly, and am never disappointed.

I loved this place! Every time I go, i'm never disappointed. The food is great and so is the service. I find that at some sushi places, they give too much rice but at sushi star all their rolls are not too big so you can always try new things without getting too full off of one order. I go there with my boyfriend all the time and get buffet. All the food comes out fast and it tastes delicious! Plus, all the people who work there always have a smile on their face. They never seem overworked and are always happy to help you. I would definitely go back here. I think it might be a bit pricery than other sushi places, but its worth it.

This was my first time here. We usually go to Ye's if we are in kitchener but a friend told me to try sushi star. The food was delicious and the server was awesome. I would definitely go back again. The only downside to me is that you place the order verbally with the server and I prefer the sheet you can fill out and hand in. Small downside.

WORST SUSHI ... HORRIBLE!

Ate here with colleagues instead of Ye's because we had a coupon for 20% off. It was my first time dining here, and I was completely disgusted with the quality of the food. My handrolls were barely edible because the salmon was so tough, I couldn't bite through it. Same with the seaweed paper. We had at least two plates show up at our table that were completely wrong, but the servers took it back without hesitation. I rarely write a bad review on a place, but I had to for Sushi Star. I eat sushi a few times a month, and have been all over Canada to numerous sushi restaurants. I can honestly say this is the worst sushi I have ever eaten in my life. The only plus to the meal was the seaweed salad - it was really good! Everything else (see below), was really, really terrible.

Your best bet for AYCE sushi in town

Tired of a chaotic mess of indifferent servers slapping down your food? Sushi Star is a much better bang for your buck in comparison to another local all-you-can-eat sushi. It's no more expensive, but the quality difference is striking. -great service: very friendly and attentive. Tea was always full; great humour, especially when dealing with language barrier; used dishes never piled up; each dish presented with a smile and verbal introduction -orders were accurate, save for some count issues (3 pieces instead of the 4 that were ordered, for example) -great seaweed salad; pleasant presentation; mango is ripe, sashimi fresh, tempura only slightly over-oily (most of these places have dripping greaseballs) -serving sizes can be a bit small, so plan your orders accordingly, but the attentive service means you can order more with no problems -food came out rather quickly in most cases -pleasant minimal design; a bit small and maybe a bit noisy, but not conversation-drowning
